The Carrie Diaries is an American television teen drama. It is a prequel to the HBO television series Sex and the City and based on the book of the same name by Candace Bushnell. The first season of the show focuses on Carrie Bradshaw during her junior year of high school in 1984, and she explores life in New York while interning at a law office. On May 11, 2012, the pilot was picked up by The CW to series and premiered on January 14, 2013.

Meanwhile, Larissa (Freema Agyman) wants to do a photo shoot with Carrie’s purse for Interview magazine forcing Carrie to scramble to make it work.

Carrie decides to confront Sebastian about what she's discovered and is shocked by his reaction. Maggie (Katie Findlay) deals with her breakup with Walt (Brendan Dooling) in the only way she knows how and finds some solace from Dorrit (Stefania Owen.) Meanwhile, Larissa (Freema Agyman) takes Carrie, Mouse (Ellen Wong) and Seth (special guest Kyle Harris) to an outrageous performance art club in New York City, which leaves them all feeling self-conscious.

It doesn’t take long before the night goes awry and Carrie is forced to babysit Larissa, who has clearly taken too many drugs. Walt finds himself in an uncomfortable position after a party guest gets a little too close for comfort. Elsewhere, Maggie (Katie Findlay) convinces Mouse (Ellen Wong) to go with her to Sebastian’s (Austin Butler) Halloween party at the diner to help keep tabs on him. After Doritt’s (Stefania Owen) attempt to sneak out of the house is thwarted, she discovers hanging out with her father (Matt Letscher) isn’t so bad.

In order to hang on to a favorite spot at the diner, Maggie (Katie Findlay) takes on Donna LaDonna (Chloe Bridges) and her friends. Meanwhile, Tom (Matt Letscher) loses his wedding ring, which makes him realize that Harlan (guest star Scott Cohen) might be right about starting to date again.

Tom (Matt Letscher) is oblivious to the chaos going on in the kitchen, while Dorrit (Stefania Owen) finds a new way to torture Carrie. Maggie (Katie Findlay) is excited to have Thanksgiving with Walt’s (Brendan Dooling) family, but when the topic of college comes up she realizes that she hasn’t put much thought into her future. Elsewhere, Sebastian (Austin Butler) learns that his mother decided to fly out of town with her boyfriend, leaving him to fend for himself on Thanksgiving.

Dorrit, (Stefania Owen) who used to go to the Nutcracker ballet with her mother every year, reluctantly agrees to go with Tom (Matt Letscher), but he has a hard time filling his wife’s shoes. Mouse (Ellen Wong) gets a B+ on an exam and blames it on her relationship with Seth (guest star Kyle Harris.) Meanwhile, Donna LaDonna (Chloe Bridges) catches Maggie (Katie Findlay) cheating on Walt (Brendan Dooling) and blackmails her into keeping Carrie away from Sebastian (Austin Butler.)
